How to choose a size

The most common mistake is going too small. Artwork that is too small for the wall looks incidental, while something slightly too large almost always works.\n\nStart from the furniture below it. A good rule of thumb is that the artwork — or the group of pieces — covers about two thirds of the furniture's width. Above a three-seater sofa of 210 cm that means roughly 140 cm of artwork: one 70x100 print, or two 50x70 side by side. Above a 90 cm dresser, a single 50x70 or two 30x40 is enough.\n\nHanging height is nearly always the same: centre the artwork about 150 cm above the floor, which is eye level for most people. Above furniture, 20–30 cm of clearance between the furniture and the bottom edge is a better guide than measuring from the floor.\n\nHanging several together, keep 5–8 cm between frames and align either the top edges or the centre line. Uneven spacing is what makes a gallery wall look messy — not mixing sizes.

Frequently asked questions about poster sizes

What poster size fits above a sofa?
Aim for artwork covering about two thirds of the sofa's width. Above a three-seater of 200–220 cm, one 70x100 cm print works, or two 50x70 cm hung side by side with 5–8 cm between them.
Is 21x30 the same as A4?
Almost, but not quite. A4 measures 21 × 29.7 cm, while our smallest poster is 21 × 30 cm — 3 millimetres taller. The difference is small enough that a standard A4 frame usually works, though in a frame with a tight mount those last millimetres can show.
How high should a poster hang?
Centre the artwork about 150 cm above the floor. Above furniture, measure 20–30 cm of clearance between the furniture and the bottom edge instead — the two then read as one unit.
Which size should I choose for a gallery wall?
Mixing sizes is fine, but keep the count down. A common setup is one 50x70 as the anchor with two or three 30x40 or 21x30 around it. What decides the result is even spacing, not matching sizes.
Is every motif available in every size?
Yes. All our posters are printed in all five sizes, in both matte and silk. You choose the size and paper on the product page.
What paper are the posters printed on?
200 gsm paper, in matte or silk. Matte gives no reflections and suits rooms with lots of light or ceiling lamps; silk gives slightly deeper colour. You choose the paper on the product page.
