Paintings as Posters

Paintings reproduced as posters offer something photography does not: visible brushwork, and a surface that catches light differently through the day. The motifs here are landscapes, flower meadows, still water and scenes with people — often impressionist in feel.

They are warmer than both photography and abstract work, and they suit older furniture and wood. In a living room full of modern, straight lines, one painting gives the counterweight the room is missing.

Silk paper brings out the brush texture a little more than matte. If the motif is dark, matte gives you no reflections from ceiling lights in return.
