Beige posters
Beige is the safest colour on a wall, and the most underrated. It clashes with nothing, it warms a room without darkening it, and you rarely tire of it.\n\nAgainst a white wall, beige gives enough contrast for the artwork to read without taking over the room. Against a darker or painted wall it works the other way round: the lighter passages lift the wall instead of disappearing into it.\n\nThe colour suits wood, linen and wool particularly well, which is to say most Nordic living rooms and bedrooms.
