Illustration is drawn work: motifs where someone made a decision about line, colour and character rather than reproducing something that exists. The category is small and clearly bounded — paintings and watercolours sit under Paintings.

Illustrated motifs have an advantage over photography in rooms that take a lot of use: they rarely tire the eye, and they clash less with whatever is already on the wall. That makes them a safe choice for kitchens and children's rooms.

In 30x40 and 21x30 they work well in a row, and because the lines are clear they hold up at smaller sizes without the detail disappearing.
